Single guys can sometimes be annoying.

These type of fellas are better off with a girl.

The damages they create are more controlled. Hahaha...

Hari Raya Special

Notice how i look very tall in this picture but actually in real life, i look very small? hahaha.... After 1 project review and 2 tests, here is the Hari Raya Special Edition entry.. (macham paham)

Eve of hari raya, help cut2 the vegetables. Mum told me to tear the long beans (yes, tear) into short lengths with my hands. Mum showed me how to tear them one long bean by one. I decided to save time buy doing it two at a time. I started to think, isnt there any device that could make this process easier? I try to think of a device... after tearing up half of them, my mum gave me a knife... OMG, there IS a device for it.. haha.. and it helped speed up the process by 234134124 times.

Then on hari raya itself, solat raya at Sultan Mosque. Prayer commenced at 8.30am but we reached there 7.20am. My dad really that type who'll come super2 early one. He told me, we're gonna move off from the house at 7am, but he was ready by 6.45am "-_-

After prayer, PUNYA LA RAMAI orang. So i started to think about entropy (i also thought of entropy going to geylang few days back). Hahah, the more people involved, the more entropy, the more chaotic the situation is. Since a process is reversible only when entropy is zero, the mosque situation is like, super irreversible la. Hahah, i mean, ask everyone to gostan (reverse) and walk back to where they came from backwords... confirm cannot!

My worldview is definitely screwed.

On the way back, i smsed my frends to wish them hari raya. Im not very talented at speeches, making pantuns to forward to everyone... So instead of typing my name, i type a simple uchapan and type out ppl's name on the sms! I think this is something which I should keep up.

What i like best about raya is definitely its the time where I can eat home-made ketupats. WOOHOO.

So I guess, Selamat Hari Raya to All k? Maaf zahir batin. Semoga this hari raya, you'll be happy with ur friends and family and have a good time.

He who sleeps half a day has won half a life. ~ Karl Kraus

WHAT?!

haha... Tests and project review this week, so busy that I could not post entry properly.

Just finished revising for one test tomorrow (i hope enough).

Anyway, I always switch on my laptop in lectures because Im too lazy to print notes. Coz at the end of the day, I'll still revise using the softcopy versions on my desktop.

So today, very sleepy.. in fact, I thought I'd slept for the whole 1.5 hours of lecture, but the guy sitting next to me said (and told everyone);

Everytime the lecturer moves on to a new slide, I'd wake up, change to the next slide on my laptop, and then go back to sleep again.

Hahah.. I dont know whether I was actually concentrating or wasting time change2 the slides on my laptop.

Jamal Abdillah

Either you can see him looking like a retard or being tortured to sing...

Or...

You can see how talented and great he is, being able to sing that good when you can see he is super damn exhausted.

In every man's heart there is a secret nerve that answers to the vibrations of beauty. ~Christopher

Sometimes it takes me about 5 mins of sitting down staring blankly at the computer screen just to recollect back what I had planned to do. Definitely NOT a good sign. Hahah.

I recalled back one interview with the late Richard Feynman. He was countering the argument that unlike an Artist who sees things in a beautiful light, and Scientist takes things all apart and makes it dull.. bla bla bla

Although I'm not a good physicist like Mr. Feynman, I do see things differently. Like your everyday aluminium foil. After I saw a video on how it is manufactured, I treat it very specially and try not to waste it by using it unnecessarily.

Did you know that they actually flatten a 45cm thick block of aluminium into a thin sheet?

Heh, if only I could explain in words how they slice the potato into thin strips use centrifugal force. I am awed with condoms too, coz they must take minimum of 18 litres of air before they explode. Even dustbins, I cant look at them normally, as it'll remind me of blow molding.

Understanding the processes, the energy and work done into making things, I have been engulfed with the feeling of appreciation towards the things around me.

Kinda weird eh I see beauty in inorganic, manufactured stuff?

Plus, this seems like a bual world entry. HAHAHAH.

Spring Chicken

Yesterday had spring chicken for my buka after my 6-8pm lecture.

I tapped out after consuming 3/4 of it. It used to be so easy eating up 1 hole spring chicken back then. Oh, is my metabolism rate going down?

Will my perut get bonchet?

I still don't know why I'm listening to Nsync these days. Ahakz.

Taking a half an hour break. Just finished the lab reports. Planning to do maths after this. My dad joked that I am taking anti-sleeping pills (they were iron tablets) sahur tadi. Nowadays I sleep after buka, and qiyam untuk belajar sampai sahur. Lol. Untuk sekolah sanggun jaga malam eh...

NUS Lab

A typical NUS Lab (I had 2 lab sessions back-to-back yesterday) sounds like this.

Go in, listen to briefings (can sleep one), do VERY simple experiments, take readings of around 4-6 values at different timings (usually digital, u just read from the instruments... one of them today, even automatically saves them as excel file for you)...

AND YOU HAVE TO COME OUT WITH LAB REPORTS WITH 5486313548531864 GRAPHS!

ok, the amount was exaggerated, just a few graphs and NUMEROUS calculations. And yesterday's TWO lab reportS must submit on Monday LAH before 12! Argh.

With so few things, you have to cook up a whole lot of nonsense to make you more smarter and get you the grades.

;

This experiment must come out with 2 x 3 = 6 Graphs plus four different methods of calculating the coefficient thingey. It involves tedious calculations (like one of them must find the Reynolds number of the air flow, which is only a part of a LONGER equation) and also plucking the value from a not so straightforward graph.

After that second lab kan... take few readings, then from that reading, must read from this ridiculous (in a sense that its contains so much info) graph that strains your eyes.

Deliverables includes calculations (kalau takde, tak sah) and drawing the process flow on this unreadable chart.

I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat. ~Winston Churchill

AlhamduliLlah... Donating blood while fasting is... THE SAME like donating blood in any other months it seems. No pening whatsoever. The only not so good thing is that you cant eat the food they give you after donating.. which are a LOT. haha.

I entered the place (MPSH2) at around 3pm, but the needle was inserted into my vein only at 4.30pm. Quite long eh the waiting time? Go plenty of people ah want to donate. Good eh?

Anyway, i looked at the clocked and timed how fast was it for me to squirt (for the lack of better word, haha) one bag (450ml) of blood. It was around 4 mins. Quite good eh?

I shall try maintain that flow rate next time i donate.

“Man is harder than iron, stronger than stone and more fragile than a rose.”

See that? I got one on my computer table / study table. My 'home-made' whiteboard also has a sketch of a rose on it. There used to be a lot of Origami Roses on on top of my printer too, untill someone shifted the whole thing and all the roses fell to the floor.

The roses stayed on the floor sampai sekarang.....

I like artificial roses in its various non-organic forms.

Heres a picture of my favourite origami thus far...

Inside the lecture.....

My lecturer complained at the start of the lecture that as this is a 3MC Module, we'll only have 2 hours of lecture per week, and we may not be able to cover so much like other modules.

But he just gave us a 15 minutes break in between his two hour lecture now.. hahah..

Reminds of the khatib who said, "Ramadhan is supposed to change you 360 degrees" and went on saying how some ppl, after going through Ramadhan does not become any better...

Life is something that happens when you can't get to sleep. ~Fran Lebowitz

its only been two days of school (three including today) this week and im already starting to look forward to the day when i can sleep 12 hours....

i try and try to convice myself that i need less than 8 hours of sleep per day since ive grown up now... so i aimed for five hours of sleep a day. nevertheless, i still feel tired, fatigued adn exhausted most of the time.. and i still sleep in lecutres (i guess that cant be help, lol)

sometimes i wish i dun have to sleep..

but then ah, i study better right after i wake up... i think that'd be a good reason for me to sleep more.

sleep more = study more

and im fasting today right now even though the location says im at a fast food restaurant... yes, ppl around me ARE eating breakfast... im a very poor thing.
